This a lick-the-blender type of smoothie.
Traveling is one of the biggest obstacles when it comes to sticking to eating well. At least for me. I want to indulge and throw the ‘I’m on vacation’ excuse at every meal, snack, opportunity for dessert. When you make it a non-negotiable deal, though, eating well and getting moving on vacation is a no-brainer.
I love going home to Miami. It’s home, it’s vacation – it’s everything. This last time I went home, though, something was missing! The Whole Foods near my house got rid of their smoothie bar. Post-yoga and craving something good, I was panicking.
‘What the heck am I supposed to eat?’ I thought as I envisioned my mother’s kitchen; full of sugar, mostly candy, and close to nothing else.
As I paced the once-smoothie-bar area, I remembered my mom at the very least owned a blender. So I mazed my way through the store, picking up all the perfect, single packet ingredients I needed to create a smoothie. I thought nothing of what the smoothie might taste like, I just knew I was packing in all the good things my body was needing after a good ass-kicking vinyasa class.
What I ended up with was the BEST, post-yoga smoothie my body could have asked for:
1 cup Milk of Choice (I used almond milk)
1 Garden of Life Raw Protein & Greens packet
1 Vital Proteins collagen peptides packet
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 Artisana Walnut Butter packet
Single shot of decaf espresso (optional)
1/2 – 1 cup Ice
Add Almond Milk to blender, followed by powdered ingredients and chia seeds.
Squeeze out the Walnut Butter and use the banana to collect any drizzles from the side of the blender. (When nut butter hangs on to the side of a blender, it ain’t gettin’ blended.)
Blend on medium speed.
Serve and enjoy!
(Optional) I topped mine with Naked coconut chips.
